Control of cranberry fruit worm on blueberries.

Control of cranberry fruit worm on blueberries.

The cranberry fruit worm, Mineola vacinii, Riley, is an economic pest of cultivated blueberries in New Jersey. A small percentage of the berries are mined and destroyed. The live worms crawling over the berries are revolting to customers. The danger of sales reduction is more important than the actual destruction of fruit. Airplane dustings have dramatically reduced the number of worms crawling on harvested fruit.
